The old school way of producing an Annual Report in general involved the agency delivering the design, project management and great logistics whilst the Company provided the pagination and copy.
With an ever increasing workload for investor relations and company secretariat departments, it has become ineffective for the agency and the Company to work in these clearly defined silos.
The best annual reports are now delivered by teams that genuinely work together to produce the best result. This might mean that the agency advise the company on all elements of best practice whilst also providing copy; work collaboratively with the company to improve the presentation of strategy or the business model; or offer first-draft editing skills to bring the report to life. It is clearly critical to this new way of working that there is a high level of trust between the parties.
